2. Hike or Sandboard at the Sigatoka Sand Dunes National Park

Fiji’s first national park is a great place to spend the day discovering more of Fiji’s fascinating landscape. Take either the 1-hour or 2-hour walking trail either on your own self-guided walk or treat yourself to a guided walk with the park rangers. Why visit the Sigatoka Sand Dunes National Park? Well, if the sand dune scenery wasn’t enough then you will enjoy the pockets of forest which are great for spotting native birds, searching for ancient Lapita artefacts and sandboarding with some activity providers! Note that the park is open 8am-5pm daily. Visit the visitor centre first so the rangers can show you the walking trails. Alternatively, tours to the dunes are available with Excite Tours & Travel (more info on Viator and Klook). See more experiences like this in the 10 Free & Cheap Things to Do on the Coral Coast.

3. Refresh at the Biausevu Waterfall

Who doesn’t love a good waterfall?! The tall lop-sided Biausevu Waterfall is a marvel to see and can be experienced in several ways. Tours can be arranged with your accommodation or Excite Tours & Travel to arrive at the Biausevu village (more info on Viator and Klook) or you can drive yourself to the Biausevu village where you’ll meet the locals and possibly visit the local school before embarking on a journey to the waterfall with a local guide. The walk to the waterfall is under one hour with a couple of very shallow stream crossings. If you’re lucky, you might even be able to do a horse trek with one of the village guides to the waterfall. Remember, it’s “Fiji time” so anything can happen! Once you get to the waterfall, you’ll get to experience this awesome swimming hole and take plenty of photos! The Naihehe Caves are bathed in Fijian history, which your guide will tell you all about, as well as showing you through the complex cave network. You’ll also get to enjoy some cave swimming too.
