How to Get to Suva

Suva is located on the southwestern side of Fiji’s main island, Viti Levu. As most international travellers arrive in Fiji at the Nadi International Airport, about a 200km (125 miles) drive from Suva, you will need to make your way by land or by air to get to your wedding or honeymoon destination. Here are some of the best options for couples.

Suva via Plane

For utmost convenience, and so your wedding or romantic getaway can start sooner, take a flight from Nadi Airport to Nausori Airport. Flights take approximately 30 minutes and can cost anywhere between FJ$70 to FJ$300 for a return flight depending on date, time and when you book. From Nausori Airport, it is around a 30-minute drive into Suva, with taxis, buses and car rentals all available at Nausori Airport.

Suva via Private Transfer

Enjoy your own space as you watch the coastal scenery go by with a private transfer to Suva. From Nadi Airport, the journey takes around three to four hours along the Queens Road. Wedding Venues in Suva

A wedding in Suva presents a wealth of wedding venue options. A mix of cultures and religions are represented in Suva where you will be able to plan your wedding ceremony with the church or temple you belong to. Alternatively, wedding ceremonies and reception venues can be found in romantic settings of Suva’s fabulous hotels, town hall and gardens.

Looking for that more “destination wedding” atmosphere for your special day? Your best options in the city of Suva are within its stylish hotels, each offering its own charms. The Grand Pacific Hotel, Suva’s iconic landmark established over 100 years ago, is a romantic venue on the waterfront with harbour views on one side and the green and attractive Albert Park on the other. The hotel offers a number of rooms for weddings and events, from intimate gatherings in their Wai Silva Floating Room to grand celebrations for up to 600 people in their Entertainment Centre. The hotel itself is one that’s sure to impress your guests with its deluxe guest rooms, a stylish tropical bar and restaurant, and a swimming pool on the waterfront of Lami Bay.

With a purpose-built function facility on a dedicated floor, the Tanoa Plaza Hotel is a spectacular venue in the heart of Suva. Invite up to 150 people to your wedding reception in the Tanoa Room 3 awash with natural light and overlooking the city. Tanoa Plaza also offers catering options and cocktail packages. Be sure to book yourselves into the luxurious Executive Suite to celebrate the special occasion.

Nestled in the rainforest of the Colo-i-Suva Forest Park, the Colo-i-Suva Rainforest Eco Resort provides a beautiful natural venue. The pool area is a breathtaking outdoor venue surrounded by tropical forest and catering for up to 50 people. Alternatively, choose the Conference Room for up to 25 people or the Gazebo located in the Rainforest Restaurant ideal for small gatherings.

Finally, the Holiday Inn Suva‘s poolside pavilion with spectacular harbour views is definitely worth considering. Up to 350 guests can join you for your outdoor Suva wedding. Suva Park Wedding Venues

Suva has a number of attractive green spaces peppered across the city making for some stunning outdoor wedding venues. Thurston Gardens, located next to the Fiji Museum, is a peaceful public park of manicured lawns and botanical gardens displaying beautiful native vegetation, from palms to water lilies. At the centre is a bandstand with a magnificent clock tower, making a fabulous centre for a wedding aisle to lead up to.

The waterfront MySuva Picnic Park and its traditionally thatched bure is another spectacular outdoor venue with a real Fijian flair. Walk down the aisle on the lushly landscaped lawn and get stunning wedding photos around the park’s lakes and along the waterfront.

Finally, it’s possible to organise that Fiji “beachfront wedding” at Mosquito Island, a.k.a. Nukumaroriko Island. The small island across the water from Lami offers a small sandy beach backed by tropical forest. The eco-friendly island can be booked out for day events.
