Less than an hour’s drive from the capital lies the Pacific Harbour, dubbed “The Adventure Capital of Fiji“. Such adventures can be found inland with jet boat and white water rafting tours taking you up the Navua River to Fijian villages and endless cascades of waterfalls. Out on the ocean is the Beqa Lagoon surrounded by one of the world’s largest barrier reefs excellent for snorkelling and scuba diving.

The Best Day Trip from Suva for Budget Travellers
Travel time by car: 35 mins one way
A lesser-known waterfall day trip from Suva is the Wainadoi Waterfall. In Wainadoi along the Queens Road, take the righthand turnoff after the bridge and follow the road for about 2.5km (1.5 miles) all the way to the river where you’ll need to walk the rest of the way to the small waterfall and swimming hole. Note there is a small entrance fee. Also in the area is the Zip Fiji zipline course (on Viator and Tripadvisor), as well as the high-wire obstacle course of Kila Eco Adventure Park.
