Nightlife on the Coral Coast, Fiji
Enjoy sundowners with friends, a cocktail by the pool, or a Polynesian fire show at one of the Coral Coast’s bars and lounges. While the Coral Coast isn’t the place for nightclubs and partying until 4 am, Fiji’s holiday destination has more of a casual vibe to relax and embrace “Fiji time“. That’s not to say that you can’t find a range of vibes, especially with the lively bars of Korotogo’s Sunset Strip or the backpacker bar of The Beachouse. You’ll really find a mix of experiences when it comes to nightlife on the Coral Coast, so find your perfect watering hole in this list of bars on the Coral Coast.

Table of Contents
1. Flying Fin Restaurant & Bar
Let’s start with one of the liveliest joints of the Coral Coast, the Flying Fin Restaurant & Bar. The casual bar and restaurant is a hidden gem within Cuvu township (free shuttles from nearby resorts are available if you give them a call), where early evenings are spent eating Europen-style cuisine before the bar becomes a bustle of activity. While this used to be a late-night jaunt, Flying Fin is now only open to 9:30 pm. Nevertheless, you can still indulge in creative cocktails like “Flying Fin’s Kiss” and partake in the night’s entertainment, whether it’s a fire show or Polynesian dancing. Find out more about the food in The Food Guide to the Coral Coast: Places to Eat & Food Tours.
Location: Main Street, Cuvu.

2. Sundowner Bar & Grill
Famed in Fiji for having one of the best bar locations, the Sundowner Bar & Grill is well worth popping in. Located at the Outrigger Fiji Resort, Sundowner Bar & Grill is a family-friendly bar overlooking the beach. As the name suggests, it’s a fabulous place to have a few “sundowners” from their extensive drinks menu of cocktails, beers, wines and mocktails.
Location: Outrigger Resort, Queens Road, Korotogo.

3. Beach Bar n’ Grill
While many staying in the Korotogo resorts go to the Beach Bar n’ Grill for their amazing seafood (and to try something outside of the confines of their resort), it’s also a great place to prop up at the bar with a Fijian beer, fruity cider or, of course, an obligatory cocktail. The bar opens from 5 pm til late.
Location: Sunset Strip, Korotogo. Opposite the Crab Shack.

4. Gecko’s Restaurant
Even before Gecko’s became the Gecko Resort, the Gecko’s Restaurant had been drawing in punters exploring the Coral Coast for years! Partly, that’s thanks to their famous Polynesian dancing and fire shows, every Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday night starting from 7:30 pm. Otherwise, nestled in tropical gardens, Gecko’s Restaurant is just a pleasant place to enjoy happy hour drinks (5 pm-7 pm) with a Fijian beer or a Gecko’s Special Cocktail.
Location: Gecko’s Resort, Queens Road. Between Voua and Cuvu.

5. The Beachouse Bar
The backpacker crowd can be found at one of the most popular backpacker resorts on the Coral Coast, The Beachouse. The Beachouse Bar has a vibrant social atmosphere where you’ll meet travellers from all over the world while sipping on seasonal cocktails and tropical smoothies, as well as local and international beers, wines and spirits.

6. Black Marlin Bar
The Shangri-La’s Fijian Resort has a couple of dedicated bars where guests of their luxury resort can unwind with some casual drinks. However, if you’re looking for more of a “party” vibe of the Coral Coast’s resorts, then head to the Black Marlin Bar. They have two happy hours: 5 pm-7 pm and 9 pm-10 pm, getting the punters merry for dancing along to the DJ or live music throughout the week!

7. Kama Lounge
Situated in one of Fiji’s largest resorts, the Kama Lounge provides a real range of experiences throughout the week – and even throughout the night. In the afternoon, the lounge serves up afternoon tea. Then at dusk, the ritual torch lighting marks the start of the Fijian and South Pacific entertainment and happy hour drinks from 5:30 pm to 7:30 pm. From there, anything could happen with a weekly schedule of tribal drumming, acoustic performers, village choirs, live bands and DJs. Find the lounge at the InterContinental Fiji Resort!

8. Pool Bar
Who doesn’t love a swim-up pool bar? It’s one of the finest novelties of a Fijian holiday, so make use of the pool bars in resorts such as Outrigger, Naviti and Tambua Sands. The Warwick Resort has two fantastic pool bars offering cocktails and beers without having to ever leave the soothing waters of the pool. Happy hour in their Suva Pool is 4 pm to 5 pm (buy three, pay for two) and in their Nadi Pool, it’s 5 pm to 6 pm with the same deal.
Location: The Warwick Fiji, Queens Road, Korolevu.

9. Bamboo Bar
Enjoy one of the amazing tropical creations of the Bamboo Bar at the Mango Bay Resort. The budget resort has the drink prices to match, especially at happy hour, 5:30 pm-7:30 pm, with Fijian beers for FJ$5, wines for FJ$7, martinis for FJ$12 and much more (prices are approximate and could change at any time, blah, blah…). Whatever you order, you’re sure to enjoy the relaxed atmosphere among the tropical gardens. Learn more about the budget resorts on the Coral Coast here.

For a genuine nightclub experience on the Coral Coast, Club Tipsy is the place to be. Open daily from 5 pm to 1 am, this local hotspot offers great deals on RTDs and beer jugs. While there are security guards present, we recommend being mindful of your safety and avoiding going alone. It’s a favourite among locals and a perfect spot if you’re looking to break away from the typical tourist haunts. You’ll love the vibrant atmosphere and the chance to mingle with Fijians and Indo-Fijians on a night out!
