Culinary Delights at Corner Café

As we settled into our seats at Corner Café, the aroma of freshly cooked meals wafted through the air, tantalising our taste buds. This charming eatery certainly knows how to cater to diverse palates, offering a menu that’s both comforting and adventurous.

Asian-Inspired Favourites

Our culinary journey began with the “Yaki Udon”, a dish that immediately caught our eye. The stir-fried udon noodles, generously tossed with tofu and an array of fresh Asian greens, mushrooms, and carrots, were a feast for both the eyes and the palate.

The sesame-soy sauce provided a perfect balance of flavours, while the chilli dressing added a pleasant kick that had us reaching for our water glasses (in a good way!).

For those who fancy a bit of spice, the Yaki Udon certainly delivers. The heat level was just right for us, but if you’re not a fan of fiery dishes, don’t worry – the cafe offers a range of other Asian bowls to suit milder tastes.

Wrapping Up Goodness

We couldn’t resist trying the vegan wrap, and we’re glad we did. It’s a testament to Corner Cafe’s commitment to catering for all dietary preferences. Packed with fresh vegetables and plant-based protein, it’s a satisfying option that doesn’t compromise on flavour.

A Menu for All

While we couldn’t sample everything (though we were tempted!), we noticed the menu offers a wide variety of options. The Corner Café’s food menu boasts an array of tempting selections, emphasising comfort food with a gourmet flair.

Their sandwich and wrap section is particularly popular. For example, the “Sloppy Beef Boy” features freshly roasted beef accompanied by greens, chipotle sauce, and a side of dipping gravy.

For those preferring a lighter option, the “Garden Sandwich” offers whole-bread toast topped with pesto, roasted vegetables, and melted cheese – a perfect choice for vegetarians. If you’re after a heartier meal, the “Big Jack’s Cheeseburger” presents a classic quarter-pounder with BBQ sauce, fried egg, and grilled onions, all nestled in a brioche bun.

Salads form a key part of the menu, with options such as the “Prawn & Quinoa Salad”, a blend of garden greens with crostini, or the “Chicken & Zucchini Salad”, topped with grilled chicken, chickpeas, and avocado. Seafood enthusiasts might enjoy the “Crisp Calamari Salad”, which pairs crispy calamari with a chipotle mayo dressing.

For those craving more substantial dishes, Corner Cafe doesn’t disappoint. Their “Fish & Chips” offer traditional battered fish, fries, and a side salad. If you’re in the mood for something with a bit more pizzazz, try their “Pasta al Pollo”, featuring minced chicken served with pasta and parmesan. The “Fried Rice” adds a local twist, combining fresh vegetables with beef and chicken.

Corner Café’s pizzas offer a global fusion experience with inventive toppings. You’ll love their small and large sizes, perfect for sharing or indulging solo. The butter chicken with jalapeño or the tandoori paneer with roasted peppers are a favourite. Meat lovers will relish the pepperoni, lamb, and bacon-loaded option. For a unique twist, try the playful two-tone “Yin & Yang” pizza. With tomato or pesto bases and plenty of vegetarian choices, there’s something for everyone at this innovative pizzeria.

Something Sweet

One of the first things you notice (or at least we noticed) as you walk into Corner Cafe is the dessert cabinet – a colourful array of cakes, cheesecakes, pastries and more that we were told are made on-site.

While there are menu options such as “Death By Chocolate Brownie”, served with a scoop of vanilla ice cream, the cabinet desserts were the most tempting to us; they were all served up and ready to go!

High Tea, Anyone?

Although we didn’t experience it ourselves (this time, at least…), it’s worth mentioning that Corner Cafe also offers high tea. This elegant experience begins with a flute of sparkling wine and is followed by a selection of both savoury and sweet items.

Savoury treats include smoked salmon with wasabi cream on crostini and mini sliders filled with roasted chicken and herbed aioli. The sweets feature indulgent options like a “Triple Chocolate Cake” with hazelnut mousse and ganache and a “Red Velvet Cake” with raspberry confit and citrus cream cheese frosting.

Additionally, guests can enjoy fruit skewers drizzled with chocolate, accompanied by their choice of coffee or tea.

Sip and Savour: The Drinks at Corner Cafe

After indulging in the culinary delights we’ve already described, it’s time to quench your thirst with Corner Cafe’s impressive array of beverages. From steaming cups of coffee to refreshing iced teas, this charming establishment has something to satisfy every palate.

Coffee Connoisseur’s Paradise

Coffee lovers, rejoice! Corner Cafe offers a variety of expertly crafted brews that will kickstart your day or provide a much-needed afternoon pick-me-up. During our visits, we couldn’t resist trying their flat white—a perfect balance of rich espresso and velvety milk hit just the spot.

For those who prefer their coffee with a twist, the cafe boasts an enticing selection of flavoured options. Fancy a hint of sweetness? Try the caramel or vanilla latte. Feeling adventurous? The macadamia and spice or raspberry mocha might be right up your alley.

Refreshing Iced Delights

On our second visit to Corner Café, after an exhilarating e-biking tour around Nadi (it’s a tough job, but someone’s got to do it!), we found ourselves in desperate need of refreshment. Corner Café came to our rescue with their delightful iced tea selection.

We sampled both the raspberry and pineapple varieties, each proving to be the perfect antidote to Fiji’s tropical heat.

Health-Conscious Choices

For those days when you’re feeling a bit under the weather (two months of travelling can take its toll, trust us), Corner Café had us covered. Their “Daily Detox” blend, a vibrant concoction of carrot, celery, beetroot, orange, apple, and ginger, is just the ticket to boost your energy levels and get you back on your feet.

Other health-conscious options include the “Forever Young” (a tropical mix of pineapple, coconut, and ginger) and the “Apple Glow” (a zesty blend of apple, turmeric, orange, carrot, lemon, and ginger). These nutritious drinks not only taste great but will leave you feeling refreshed and revitalised.

Did we mention that they use tapioca-made drinking straws instead of plastic?! We certainly appreciated this sustainable touch.

Tropical Temptations

No visit to Corner Cafe would be completeéwithout trying one of their blended tropical delights. “The Refresher”, a heavenly combination of dragonfruit, orange, mango, and creamy coconut milk, transported us straight to paradise.

For fruit lovers, the Bang (a wild berry and apple juice blend) and the “Splendor” (a creamy pineapple and passionfruit fusion) are sure to hit the spot. Did we mention that they use tapioca-made drinking straws instead of plastic?! We certainly appreciated this sustainable touch.

A Modern Oasis: The Ambience at Corner Café

Food and drinks aside, we couldn’t help but be equally impressed by the captivating ambience of the Corner Cafe. This modern gem in the heart of Nadi offers a refreshing retreat from the bustling streets outside.

As you step inside, you’re greeted by a bright, airy space flooded with natural light streaming through large windows, which not only illuminate the interior but also provide the perfect vantage point for a bit of people-watching (a favourite pastime of ours, we must admit).

The café’s interior design is a testament to contemporary aesthetics, with a variety of seating options to suit every preference, including sleek tables for those quick coffee catch-ups, cosy booths perfect for intimate conversations, and plush couches that invite you to sink in and stay awhile.

Despite its popularity (and trust us, it’s always buzzing), we never found ourselves waiting for a table during our two visits. The attentive staff, led by our lovely waitress who remembered us from our first visit, were quick to seat us and ensure we felt right at home.

Even when the café was at its busiest, the service never faltered. With a well-staffed team, our orders arrived promptly, and our needs were anticipated with a smile.

After spending days exploring the sun-soaked streets of Nadi, we were particularly grateful for the café’s efficient air-conditioning. It provided a welcome respite from the tropical heat, allowing us to relax and savour our meals in comfort.

Function Room at Corner Cafe

We also had a sneak peek at their spacious air-conditioned function room, tucked away behind the main café (you wouldn’t even know it’s there!).

That’s right, Corner Café offers more than just delicious meals. They boast chef-led catering services and complimentary use of event spaces when you book their catering.

Part of Jack’s Restaurants, they have a glowing reputation for events and catering. All in all, Corner Café is the perfect spot for gatherings!
