The Most Unique Resorts and Places to Stay in Fiji

Fiji is already a special island destination with unique cultures, activities and more. But if you want to make your stay here extra special, why not stay in one of Fiji’s unique resorts, homestays, beach houses, treehouses and something else? We go over the most unique accommodations in Fiji in the list below!

1. Gipsea (Nadi)

The ocean is a core part of Fiji life, so it only makes sense to stay on it during your visit! Gipsea is a 46 ft yacht moored just off the sandy shores of Wailoaloa Beach in Nadi. While she has sailed extensively throughout the South Pacific, she’s now yours for the night as a unique accommodation in Fiji. Sure, you won’t be going anywhere (unless you pay extra to charter the yacht) but it’s a fun experience to be had being rocked to sleep by the gentle ocean waters. The yacht has a kitchen, toilet, an outdoor shower and a lounge area. There are lilos out on the deck should you want to kick back under the stars. Check out similar but different accommodations in the 10 Unique Boat Stays in Fiji.

2. Palmlea Farms Lodge & Bures (Vanua Levu)

Beach resorts: you can’t get away from them in Fiji except in the case of Palmlea Farms Lodge & Bures. This working organic farm provides an alternative resort experience where you can meet cute farm animals, like goats and chickens, and tour the orchards of tropical produce. As for accommodation, stay in one of the traditional eco-bures made with true Fijian flair. That’s not to say that there aren’t your standard resort options available, with more luxurious villas on the menu, as well as kayaking in the bay and a 25 m (80 ft) swimming pool on site. We like to think of Barefoot Manta Island Resort as affordable luxury in the Yasawas, especially with their unique beachfront safari tents. These large tents are kitted out with timber flooring, bamboo shutters, a queen bed, a private outdoor bathroom and outdoor furniture under the shade. While staying here, join the team for snorkelling with giant manta rays between May and October or for one of their other amazing scuba diving trips, as listed in the 15 Best Dive Resorts in Fiji!

There’s nowhere like the Grand Pacific Hotel in Suva, Fiji’s only five-star hotel. Standing as an iconic heritage building on the capital’s waterfront, the Grand Pacific Hotel is home to luxury heritage rooms with colonial flair, some of which are named after their most prestigious guests, such as Queen Elizabeth. The 100+-year-old hotel is adorned with several fabulous restaurants and Suva’s only fine dining establishment, as well as the indulgent Bliss Spa.
