What Services are Available in Kadavu for Yachties?
While Kadavu might be one of Fiji’s more underdeveloped islands, it still offers a unique charm for yachties looking to stock up. The main hub for provisioning is the village of Vunisea, where you’ll find a handful of small shops to replenish your supplies. Don’t expect car rentals or fancy supermarkets here, and getting around is mainly done by boat, which suits us seafarers just fine!
In Vunisea, you can pick up basic groceries, visit the post office, and even access medical services at the local hospital if needed. While the options might be limited compared to larger ports, it’s all part of the adventure of exploring Fiji’s more remote islands.

Kadavu has a number of convenience stores selling a range of tinned goods and staple foods (basically, anything that is easy to keep), as well as seasonal produce from the local plantations.
Due to late shipments to the island, there may not always be the variety of foods you expect, so it’s best to approach provisioning with an open mind.
Most shops can be found in the largest village on the island, Vunisea.
Supermarkets in Vunisea
While stall vendors come and go from Vunisea and Kadavu, some notable supermarkets include (but are not limited to):
| 🏬 Business | 📍 Location |

| Advanced Shop | Biana, Vunisea |
| Uro Shop | Vunisea Waterfront (Between Nonnie’s and Biana Bayview B&B) |
| Vunisea Post Office | Vunisea (Inland near the Police Station and Hospital) |
