Ways to Get to Denarau and Get Around Denarau

The luxury resorts, fantastic shopping and eateries, and island excursions; no wonder you have your sights on Denarau Island! Denarau is located 20-30 minutes south of Nadi International Airport making it one of the easiest Fiji holiday destinations to get to after your flight has landed. Despite being an island, Denarau Island is actually attached to the mainland via road, leaving visitors with a great selection of road transport to get there. Find out more in this list of ways to get to Denarau Island, as well as a few ways to get around Denarau.

While Denarau has bus services to make getting around easy, most of the island is small enough to walk around the resorts and Port Denarau on foot. Learn more about Denarau with our Complete Guide to Denarau.

1. Denarau by Taxi

Taxis are a popular way to get from Nadi town and Nadi International Airport to Denarau. Taxis in Nadi are affordable and plentiful, so catching a cab from Nadi to Denarau doesn’t need to be booked. However,  taxi pickups in Denarau are much more limited, as only one company can pick up passengers in Denarau. This service with Denarau Hire Cars must be pre-booked. The drive between Nadi Airport and Denarau takes about 20-30 minutes, costing FJ$30-$50 one way. Get tips on taking a taxi in our 10 Things You Need to Know About Taxis in Fiji.
