1. Enjoy an Island Day Trip (Including Snorkelling, Kayaking and More)
Port Denarau Marina is one of the main connections between Fiji’s main island and the glorious outer islands of the Mamanucas. With that, day trips to gorgeous sandy islands with resorts surrounded by coral reefs are abundant in Denarau.
For instance, try a day cruise to Tivua Island with Captain Cook Cruises or to South Sea Island with South Sea Cruises. Trips often include a mix of snorkelling, kayaking, drinks, lunch, cultural activities and/or glass-bottom boat tours.
Alternatively, South Sea Cats also offers a 3-hour island day trip with new catamarans featuring slides, snorkelling at sandbars, drinks onboard, and no island stops—perfect for active travellers. Morning and afternoon trips are available.

Two of the most iconic and unique bars in Fiji, Cloud 9 and Seventh Heaven are floating bars in the Mamanuca Islands – just a short boat journey from Port Denarau Marina. Boat trips depart daily to take keen sun-seekers and cocktail-sippers to these floating paradises, which serve up wood-fired pizzas at Cloud 9 or an à la carte menu at Seventh Heaven, as well as drinks from all over the world.
Both venues offer similar experiences, allowing you to hire snorkelling gear to explore the coral below or simply kick back on one of the two levels with day beds.
Whether you choose Cloud 9 or Seventh Heaven, you’re guaranteed a unique and unforgettable day out on the crystal-clear waters of Fiji.

With Pacific Island Air, you can land at one of the tranquil islands for the day, such as Sawa-I-Lau, or even see the Blue Lagoon, or just enjoy the view on a 20-minute to a 1 hr 30 min flight.
No two trips are the same, as the pilot usually asks what sort of things you’d like to see before departure. Note that flights require a minimum of two passengers to go ahead.

A cooking method used for hundreds of years; a lovo is food slow-cooked in an underground oven. The result is a smokey melt-in-your-mouth meal of succulent meats and tropical vegetables.
Many resorts on Denarau offer lovo nights with an unveiling of the lovo before a lovo buffet feast. Try the Lovo Night at Mamacita Mexican Restaurant, which involves a traditional Fijian feast cooked in an authentic earth oven, accompanied by a Fijian meke performance.
Alternatively, tours to the Fiji Culture Village offer an immersive night of culture as you visit a traditional-style village and watch fire dancing and meke cultural performances concluding with a lovo feast.
