Family Accommodation on Kadavu

For families who love to adventure together, Kadavu is the ideal Fiji destination. Kadavu is not your average Fiji island. Here, there’s effortless cultural immersion to experience, the Great Astrolabe Reef to explore, waterfalls, rare birds, rainforest walks and much more! What makes discovering this pristine island in Fiji all the easier for families is the high-quality services of Kadavu’s resorts. Sure, not all the resorts are as “luxurious” as what you might find in the Mamanuca Islands or the Coral Coast, but resorts will go above and beyond to ensure you have an unforgettable family holiday in their island paradise. See some of the services the resorts provide in The Family Guide to Kadavu and check out your family resorts on Kadavu in the list below!

1. Tiliva Resort

Families staying at the Tiliva Resort will stay in one of their simple yet comfortable bures with a private deck, hot water, ensuite and, a rarity on the outer islands, free Wifi! Aside from amazing snorkelling and scuba diving at the Great Astrolabe Reef, Tiliva Resort offers tours to waterfalls, hikes on Vatalutu Island, fishing, kayaking and a weekly traditional Fijian Lovo feast! We also love Tiliva’s selection of volunteering opportunities in a local village, providing families with a more educational purpose for their visit. Did we mention that all meals are included in the reasonable rate?!

For an all-inclusive stay in the secluded Malawai Bay, Papageno Resort will provide. The resort has six types of accommodation to choose from the more affordable “Garden Room” with two double beds for families up to the most elite option, the “Royal Oceanfront Bure” with three double bedrooms. There’s really accommodation for any family here, providing somewhere comfortable and pleasant to stay in between days of scuba diving (including a Bubble Maker PADI course for kids), visiting Fijian villages for arts and crafts, and hiking to the resort’s very own waterfall.

4. Matava Eco Adventure Resort

This eco-friendly resort on the southern shores of East Kadavu is a suitable getaway for families with older children. The “Family Oceanview Bures” have a queen bed with either one or two single beds, keeping the family together. Lighting and hot water are provided through solar power, and you’ll be able to charge devices during the evenings. Not that electricity will be your main concern when there are amazing snorkelling trips to be had, ocean kayaking excursions and some of the best birdwatching even within the resort. Note that bures do not have cots or other specific child facilities and that the resort has a child policy where kids under seven years are not permitted to be in the resort restaurant after 7 pm (an early dinner for families with young children will be provided, which is all included).
