Where to Drink in Denarau
Part of the charm of a Fiji holiday is cooling off with a refreshing drink in the afternoon until, well, the rest of the night. With many tasty and smooth beverages to sample (just check out our 8 Drinks in Fiji You Have to Try), it would be a shame not to hit the bars of Denarau. The island located just 25-minutes from the Nadi Airport is the go-to island for luxury holidays and luxury nightlife experiences. Far from your drunken late-night partying, Denarau is more about a relaxed drink in stunning environments. 1. The Rhum-Ba
It’s doesn’t get more Fijian than drinking rum! Fiji produces many of its own rum thanks to its abundance of sugar cane plantations, so try some of the local specialities as well as a carefully picked international selection of rums at The Rhum-Ba. Located at the Denarau Yacht Club, the venue is a pleasant place to relax in the late afternoon watching the sunset over the marina. The Rhum-ba is open until 11pm.
2. Lulu’s Bar Restaurant & Cafe
Another fantastic option at Port Denarau is Lulu’s Bar. The bar with indoor and alfresco seating has a huge drinks menu with Australian and New Zealand wines, tropical cocktails, dessert cocktails and local and international beers. 3. The Havana Breeze Bar
With views of the Pacific Ocean on one side and the Sofitel Fiji Resort lagoon-style pool on the other, The Havana Breeze Bar is a stunning place to spend the night drinking with friends. 4. The Wet Edge
Who doesn’t love a swim-up pool bar?! It’s the real way to spend “Fiji time“. Check out The Wet Edge at the Sheraton Fiji Resort, especially for happy hour between 4pm and 5pm for discounts on cocktails.
5. Cloud 9
One of the most unique bars in Fiji, Cloud 9 is a floating bar in the Mamanuca Islands. Boat trips from Port Denarau depart regularly to take keen sun-seekers and cocktail-sippers to this floating pizza bar which serves up wood-fired pizzas, as well as drinks from all over the world.

To escape the noise of screaming kids (or your own kids), spend the afternoon in the adult-only KORO restaurant and bar of the Hilton Fiji Beach Resort & Spa. The bar serves up fantastic sharing platters great to have with friends, as well as a wide selection of cocktails, wines, beer and Champagne.
For some relaxed waterfront drinking in Denarau, choose Neptunes at the Radisson Blu Resort. Serving all the favourites on their drinks menu, you won’t even care what your drinking when you’re relaxing under the shade of palm trees and looking out to the ocean.
8. Mamacita Restaurant & Bar
The Mexican restaurant situated within the Wyndham Resort is your go-to for tequila, cocktails and happiness. Happy hour is 3-6pm daily offering a generous 25% off all alcoholic drinks! The themed events are always great fun, such as their Fire-Dancing Fridays or the Fijian-themed Tuesdays with a lovo buffet – food cooked in an underground oven – and Fijian dancers.
9. Hard Rock Cafe
For those who love to rock, or just want to drink, check out the Hard Rock Cafe! Yes, Hard Rock has made its way to Fiji, with happy hour drinks between 3pm and 6pm where it’s buy-one-get-one-free on all alcoholic drinks! The cafe is primarily a restaurant with a bar area, often hosting live music nights. They are open until 10pm.
10. Malamala Beach Club
Don’t just settle for a bar: head to an island bar just off the coast of Denarau! The Malamala Beach Club is set on a small but beautiful private island complete with an infinity pool, water sports equipment and an awesome island bar.
