New country, new drinks; what do you order?! These are the drinks in Denarau, and in the whole of Fiji for that matter, that you have to try!

  • Fiji Beer – a refreshing easy-to-drink Fiji Gold or Fiji Bitter is the perfect way to end the day
  • Cocktails – cooling, fruity and fun: cocktails are a staple at any bar in Denarau

The Best Bars in Port Denarau

Port Denarau is where you’ll find a wide selection of casual bars to relax in the late afternoon Fiji sun until 10pm-11pm. The nightlife in Port Denarau has a laidback and social atmosphere where you can find people from all over the world drinking at the bars and restaurants. Port Denarau Bars

The Hard Rock Cafe is where you’re likely to find the most lively vibe in Denarau, with its nightly entertainment and music starting from 8pm Thursdays to Sundays. Alternatively, other bars like Cardo’s Steakhouse & Cocktail Bar and Lulu’s Bar Restaurant & Cafe often host live music nights to go along with their ocean views. Both bars have extensive drinks menus with international wines and beer, as well as creative cocktails.

For something more “Fijian”, try the Rhum-Ba at the Denarau Yacht Club. Their wide selection of rums is sure to make you feel jolly like a sailor as you enjoy this venue overlooking the marina. The Rhum-ba is open until 11pm. More rum delights await that Denarau Golf & Racquet Club at The Rum Co. of Fiji‘s store where tastings are encouraged! Try a fun array of flavours, including white chocolate, coffee, coconut, banana and much more!

The Best Resort Bars in Denarau

Idyllic waterfront settings in a relaxed luxury bar: that’s what nightlife at the Denarau Resorts is all about. You will also be able to find a few lively themed nights with a Fijian flare, giving you a fruitful mix of experiences each night of your Denarau stay – just like a cocktail!

Denarau Resort Bars

Looking for a stunning location for casual drinks? Neptunes at the Radisson Blu Resort is located under the shade of swaying palm trees making for a laidback environment for a cold one at the end of the day. The Havana Breeze Bar at the Sofitel Fiji Resort overlooks the resort’s pool serving Cuban cocktails and rum. You might also want to hang out with friends at the Latitude 17 bar, also at the Sofitel, providing a sophisticated lounge and serving creative cocktails, wines and Champagne. The Beach Shack Bar & Grill at the Wyndham Resort is another amazing option for drinks on the waterfront.

For a bit more excitement, check out the Mamacita Restaurant & Bar at the Wyndham Resort. The Mexican restaurant is your go-to for tequila, cocktails and more. Happy hour is 3-6pm daily offering 25% off all alcoholic drinks! You will also not want to miss Fire-Dancing Fridays or the Fijian-themed Tuesdays with a lovo buffet and cultural dancers! Coco Palms at the Sheraton Fiji Resort is another lively Fijian-themed restaurant with Fijian music and a traditional “lovo” – food cooked in an underground oven.

For some swim-up bar action, check out The Wet Edge at the Sheraton Resort where their cocktail happy hour is 4pm-5pm. There’s also a swim-up bar at the Wyndham Resort.

Finally, if you want to keep things “adults only” try the bar at the KORO adults-only lounge at the Hilton Fiji Beach Resort. Choose from sharing plates, cocktails, wines, Champagne and international beers.

The Best Island Day Trips with Bars

Fiji’s nightlife is sometimes best experienced in the day, especially when it takes you to sunny tropical islands with their very own bar! Island excursions are a great way to experience some of Fiji’s most unique bars, even if you can only experience them through the day.

Cloud 9 Floating Bar

Set above a stunning coral reef in the Mamanuca Islands, Cloud 9 floating bar is a spectacular place to spend the day. It’s a beautiful location to relax with friends or your partner, whether it’s on the sun loungers with a drink or woodfired pizza in hand or out on the water snorkelling above a glorious coral reef. Boat trips to Cloud 9 depart from Port Denarau regularly and can be booked on Viator or Tripadvisor.

Malamala Beach Club

Be whisked away to the private island at the Malamala Beach Club. The island has many amazing facilities for a day of fun or relaxation, including an infinity pool and free access to snorkel gear, stand-up paddleboards and kayaks. Most importantly, the beach club has a bar – a place you’ll want to hang out with friends all day or have a romantic dinner. The island bar serves imported wines, beers, handcrafted tropical cocktails as well as delectable sharing platters. Trips to the island are available with South Sea Cruises on Viator and Tripadvisor.
