How to Get to the Coral Coast
The Coral Coast is located on the southern coast of Viti Levu, Fiji’s mainland, about one to two hours drive from Nadi International Airport depending on your Coral Coast destination.
When it comes to keeping things “adults-only” for your holiday, it’s best to use one of the private transport methods available.
Coral Coast via Private Transfer
Ensure your journey between Nadi Airport and the Coral Coast is shared with whoever you choose by booking a private transfer. Your driver will be waiting for you on arrival at the Nadi International Airport, ready to whisk you to the doorstep of your adult-only resort on the Coral Coast.
Check out our private transfer recommendations in the 10 Best Airport Transfers in Fiji and the Coral Coast Transport Guide.
Coral Coast via Resort Shuttles
Some resorts offer private airport transfer services at a cost. They work similarly to a private transfer (see above). Very few include transfers in the room rate.
Find out which resorts offer their own transfer service in our Coral Coast Transport Guide.
Renting a Car for the Coral Coast
Considering there is a lot to explore outside of your resort, you might want to consider renting your own vehicle. Car rental depots are located in Nadi, many at Nadi Airport, as well as in Korotogo and at certain resorts along the Coral Coast.
Check out The Best Car Rentals in Fiji to see your options.
Helicopter Transfers
For a swift and scenic journey to the Coral Coast, helicopter transfers offer a luxurious option. Note that all have a 15 kg (33 lbs) baggage allowance per passenger.

Adult-Only Water Activities on the Coral Coast
With an endless hot summer and waters teeming with tropical marine life, you’re going to want to spend some time in the soothing waters of the Coral Coast. But how can you enjoy your “pool time” or watersports activities without splashing kids? Here are a few suggestions…
Snorkelling
Snorkelling is a staple of the Fiji holiday, and that’s certainly the case at the adult-only resorts on the Coral Coast.
Guests at Tambua Sands Beach Resort have complimentary use of the snorkel gear to explore the nearby reefs, while those staying at the Wellesley Resort can snorkel in the resort’s “Blue Lagoon”.
Scuba Diving
For those feeling more adventurous, don’t miss the opportunity to head out to the vibrant reefs on a scuba diving excursion.
Resorts like the Outrigger, InterContinental, The Warwick and Tambua Sands all have scuba diving lessons and trips available. While scuba diving lessons are available for ages 10+ years, trips usually attract more of an adult clientele.
There are a number of dive sites within a 10-minute boat ride of each resort, each offering its own charms, so you’re unlikely to be disappointed.
Fishing
Game and sport-fishing charters are a popular way to get out on the water on an experience that is either private for your group or more likely to be shared with fellow adults.
Try your luck catching monsters like mahimahi, sailfish, giant trevally and much more. Fishing charters are available with Coral Coast Fishing Charters and Sigatoka Fishing Charters (Cuvu Beach) and Coastal Inland Tours (Nats Building, Main Street, Sigatoka). Resort transfers can be arranged.
More information on our favourite operators can be found in the 10 Best Fishing Tours in Fiji.
Kayaking
Every waterfront resort on the Coral Coast offers complimentary use of kayaks, which is a great way to get on the water and enjoy your own “Fiji time“. Freedom hire of the kayaks means you can spend the time exploring the coast on your own or with your loved one – no busy tour groups: just you and the ocean.
Adult-Only Swimming Pools
Indulge in some relaxing pool time at one of the Coral Coast’s adult-only pools.
Cool down in the Reef Wing infinity-edge pool of the Shangri-La’s Fijian Resort or the infinity adult-only pool of the InterContinental Resort.
The Warwick Resort‘s Suva Wing adult-only pool is another fabulous choice, while the Outrigger Resort‘s Vahavu Pool has its very own swim-up bar.
Needless to say, the pools of the Coral Coast’s three adult-only resorts are a relaxing, child-free zone.

Adult-Only Land Activities on the Coral Coast
On land, there’s more on offer for an adults-only experience, from the resorts’ rejuvenating day spas to the premium golf courses of the Coral Coast.
Day Spas
Wherever you stay on the Coral Coast, day spas are a surefire way to enjoy a timeout from the rest of the world.
Try CHI, The Spa of the Shangri-La’s Fijian Resort, which offers traditional Asian-style treatments using Fijian natural products.
The InterContinental Resort‘s aptly-named Spa offers a range of experiences from hydrotherapy in their Wai Zone to a private beachside cabana massage.
Get more inspiration for choosing the right day spa for you in our 10 Best Day Spas on the Coral Coast.
Cultural Activities
It’s true that the cultural entertainment nights are usually where resort guests of all ages come together. However, you can still get your dose of culture in a less-crowded setting at one of the adult-only resorts.
Tambua Sands Resort invites you to immerse yourself in Fijian culture with coconut dessert-making lessons (tasting included), traditional kava ceremonies, and fascinating insights into Fiji’s rich history and traditions. We recommend joining these activities to truly appreciate the warmth and hospitality of Fijian culture (you’ll find more details in our guide to Fijian traditions).
Golf
Finally, the Coral Coast is one of the best locations in Fiji to play golf, so don’t miss the opportunity to play a round! Most famously, the InterContinental‘s Natadola Bay Championship Golf Course is one of Fiji’s most prestigious courses.
While the course is open to all ages, golfing etiquette is taken seriously making it a pleasant experience for all. Alternatively, try the 9-hole golf course at the fabulous Shangri-La’s Fijian Resort or Naviti Resort.

Choose your dining venue at the Wellesley Resort: at the Lazy Trout Restaurant, on the sun deck, in your room or terrace, beside the pool or even privately on the beach. It’s the perfect option for couples wanting to celebrate something special or “just because”. The restaurant is open for casual diners too.

Guests at Outrigger Resort have the luxury of the adult-only Vahavu Bistro located in their adult-only pool area. They offer a contemporary tapas menu, as well as poolside service.
Finally, there are a couple of romantic private dining options at the InterContinental Resort. Choose between dining in your own private cabana with a stunning ocean backdrop or poolside overlooking Natadola Bay.
Bars on the Coral Coast
While there’s not much party nightlife on the Coral Coast, there are, however, relaxing bars and lounges to enjoy casual drinks with friends or your loved one. All the resorts mentioned in this guide have their own bar options, which is where guests often find themselves most evenings.
However, if you’re looking to explore further, check out bars like Beach Bar N Grill on the Sunset Strip of Korotogo, famous for its seafood while indulging in wine pairings and exotic cocktails.
