How to Get Around Fiji in 5 Days
This 5-day itinerary below involves both land and overwater travel. Here is a quick rundown of how to get around Fiji on a 5-day adult-only getaway.
Road Transport in Fiji
This 5-day island-hopping itinerary has minimal road transfers between Nadi International Airport and Port Denarau often included in the catamaran ferry and water taxi transport (see below). Nevertheless, there are more ways to get to Port Denarau, which you can investigate in 5 Ways to Get to Denarau Island.
Overwater Transport in Fiji
This 5-day itinerary incorporates transport by fast catamaran from Port Denarau, but a more appropriate option for keeping your trip exclusively “adults only” could be taking a water taxi between the islands. See 5 Ways to Get to the Mamanuca Islands for more details. For getting back from the Yasawa Islands, we recommend in this itinerary to treat yourself to a helicopter or seaplane experience, ideal for an intimate adult-only holiday. See 5 Ways to Get to the Yasawa Islands for more information, as well as alternatives.
Day 1 – Nadi International Airport to the Mamanuca Islands
Travel time: 20 minutes road transfer/35-45 minutes boat transfer
With only five days, you have no time to waste! Secluded on an island with only a handful of other guests, the adult-only resorts in the Mamanuca Islands are sure to provide the tranquillity you’re seeking. Take the rest of the day to relax, make use of the complimentary kayaks and snorkel gear that your resort provides, and enjoy a couple of sundowners. Alternatively, you could get a Bula Pass and stay in a different adult-only resort each night if you feel so inclined. Either way, it’s a different pace of life in the Yasawas, where the adult-only resorts are boutique enhancing the tranquillity of an adult-only getaway. A fantastic way to spend your first evening is immersing in the Fijian culture, whether it’s through a kava session with your resort or perhaps trying a “Lovo” – a traditional Fijian feast available to try at the Yasawa Island Resort & Spa, for instance.
