January is one of the hottest months in Fiji. Expect high humidity and high rainfall in certain parts of the country, such as Viti Levu, Vanua Levu and Taveuni. There is an increased risk of tropical cyclones affecting Fiji in January – see How to Prepare for a Cyclone in Fiji.

February is a hot and humid time of the year in Fiji with frequent rainfall as it is in the middle of the wet season. As a result, it’s also one of the quietest seasons to visit Fiji. Island groups like the Mamanucas and the Yaswasas experience less rainfall than elsewhere in the country.
