The Top Family Activities in Fiji

If you ever doubted whether Fiji was a good place for a getaway with the kids, then this introductory list of things to do in Fiji with kids might help clear things up.

There are many amazing ways to enjoy Fiji as a family, whether it’s through an adventure activity like ziplining or river tubing or something more relaxing like an island cruise or, ahem, sending them to the kids’ club…

Either way, there’s something in Fiji for every family and in every island group, so check out this list of family activities in Fiji to start making your bucket list.

Table of Contents

1. Cruise the Islands for Snorkelling, Kayaking and Building Sandcastles on the Beach

Most family holidays start on the main island, Viti Levu, particularly in Denarau, but that doesn’t mean you have to miss out on the amazing archipelago landscapes of Fiji. To see all those paradise islands, get on the water with a cruise from Port Denarau.

Day cruises like South Sea Sailing, Whale’s Tale and Cruisin Fiji offer family-friendly excursions packed with activities. Kids will also love the sailing adventure to Kadavu LailaiΒ with Captain Cook Cruises, where you and your family will be whisked away on the tall ship to enjoy a guided snorkelling tour, glass-bottom boat tour, buffet lunch, cultural entertainment and a kava ceremony.

You have two adventures to choose from in Nadi: the forest-zipping and cave adventure with Zip Fiji or the waterfall and tropical rainforest zipline option with Sleeping Giant Zipline.

Alternatively,Β Kula WILD Adventure Park (see above) also features a fun, albeit short,Β zipline course. Check out more family-friendly experiences in Fiji’s arrival city in our 10 Things to Do in Nadi with Kids.

The widest range of kids’ clubs can be found in the Mamanuca Islands, offering a fantastic way for kids to socialise and learn more about Fiji’s nature and culture.

For instance, the Plantation Island Resortβ€˜s Coconut Kids’ Club has a jam-packed itinerary of coconut boat-making, T-shirt tie-dye and much more, while at Malolo Island Resort, kids get the unique opportunity to be involved in wildlife conservation programs.

Visiting local villages is an excellent way to engage with Fijian culture. Many resorts offer these experiences, with theΒ SuncoastΒ providing some of the most popular village visits.Β Navala Village is one of the few remaining villages in Fiji with traditionally thatched bures.
