The seven-day honeymoon and romance itinerary below is a road trip itinerary on Fiji’s main island, Viti Levu. For ultimate flexibility and privacy, we recommend renting a car. In particular, renting a car from Nadi, where your trip begins and ends (avoiding one-way fees), is a good idea.
The itinerary mainly takes you on Viti Levu’s sealed roads, but note that some inland roads are gravel and are likely to require a high-clearance vehicle.
Check out car rental company recommendations in The Best Car Rentals in Fiji, as well as driving tips in the 10 Safety Tips for Driving in Fiji.
For all of your transport options across the islands, not limited to the most appropriate for couples, check out the Fiji Transport Guide: 20 Best Ways to Get Around Fiji.

Travel time: 30 minutes to 3 hours, depending on where you stay
After landing at Nadi International Airport, pick up your car rental and hit the road! Today, you’ll be exploring the Suncoast, the northern region of Viti Levu, which spans between Lautoka and Korovou.
The heart of the Suncoast is Rakiraki, home to a number of relaxed four-star resorts, upmarket hotels and even a private island resort.
On your way through the Suncoast, check out the markets in Lautoka, stop by architectural sights like the Church of the Black Christ, or even take a special trip to the Navala Village with traditional “bures”.
Check out more recommendations in the 20 Best Things to Do on the Suncoast, or check out The Honeymoon & Romantic Getaway Guide to the Suncoast.
Accommodation on the Suncoast for Couples
- Bularangi Villa (Rakiraki)

For a romantic dinner with a view, the Golden Point Resort boasts a diverse menu, including traditional Fijian cuisine, that’s perfect for couples looking to spice up their culinary adventure.

It’s time to do a little more exploring of the Suncoast, whether it’s snorkelling or scuba diving at some of the amazing outer coral reefs of the Bligh Water or sticking to land with a romantic experience like a private dinner on the pontoon of the luxury Dolphin Island.
There are ways to relax, perhaps with another couples’ massage (yes, they can get pretty addictive) or with a day trek into the stunning interior of Viti Levu, visiting villages and waterfalls with Talanoa Treks. Here are some more suggestions…
Romantic Activities on the Suncoast
- Scuba dive together in the famous Bligh Water
- Explore Nananu-i-Ra and Nananu-i-Cake Islands by kayak
- Set the scene with a romantic sunset cruise
- Enjoy a candlelit private dinner on a floating pontoon

For something more casual, Ring Gold Divers organises beach picnic boat trips where you and your loved one will be whisked away to an off-shore island. You will have the entire day to sunbathe, snorkel, swim, and partake in a local picnic.

Travel time: 40 minutes
There’s so much to do on the Pacific Harbour and Beqa Island that we recommend leaving Suva early to fit in a couple of full days of experiences. The Pacific Harbour is known as Fiji’s “Adventure Capital” with white water rafting, jet boat tours, ziplining, shark diving and more!
If you’re adventure-seekers, then you’ll fill up your time here with no problem. Otherwise, there are certainly more excuses to lounge with a cocktail in hand, get a massage or go on a sunset cruise.
