How to Get Around Fiji in 7 Days

The seven-day honeymoon and romance itinerary below is a road trip itinerary on Fiji’s main island, Viti Levu. For ultimate flexibility and privacy, we recommend renting a car. In particular, renting a car from Nadi, where your trip begins and ends (avoiding one-way fees), is a good idea.

The itinerary mainly takes you on Viti Levu’s sealed roads, but note that some inland roads are gravel and are likely to require a high-clearance vehicle.

Day 1 – Nadi International Airport to the Suncoast

Travel time: 30 minutes to 3 hours, depending on where you stay

After landing at Nadi International Airport, pick up your car rental and hit the road! Today, you’ll be exploring the Suncoast, the northern region of Viti Levu, which spans between Lautoka and Korovou.

The heart of the Suncoast is Rakiraki, home to a number of relaxed four-star resorts, upmarket hotels and even a private island resort.

On your way through the Suncoast, check out the markets in Lautoka, stop by architectural sights like the Church of the Black Christ, or even take a special trip to the Navala Village with traditional “bures”.

Day 2 – Explore the Suncoast

It’s time to do a little more exploring of the Suncoast, whether it’s snorkelling or scuba diving at some of the amazing outer coral reefs of the Bligh Water or sticking to land with a romantic experience like a private dinner on the pontoon of the luxury Dolphin Island.

Day 3 – Suncoast to Suva

Day 4 – Suva to the Pacific Harbour

There’s so much to do on the Pacific Harbour and Beqa Island that we recommend leaving Suva early to fit in a couple of full days of experiences. The Pacific Harbour is known as Fiji’s “Adventure Capital” with white water rafting, jet boat tours, ziplining, shark diving and more!

If you’re adventure-seekers, then you’ll fill up your time here with no problem. Otherwise, there are certainly more excuses to lounge with a cocktail in hand, get a massage or go on a sunset cruise.

Day 7 – Coral Coast to Nadi International Airport

Travel time: 1-2 hours, depending on where you stayed

Enjoy one last drive on the remainder of the Coral Coast before returning to where you started at Nadi International Airport. Stop by some of the cool cafes for breakfast, with some great options both along the Coral Coast (Baravi Cafe, Retro Cafe and Cafe Planet) and Nadi (Bulaccino Cafe, Corner Cafe and Coffee Hub).
