Travel time: 1 hr 5 mins flight, 40 minutes drive to Suva

Your around-Fiji-in-14-days adventure brings you to Fiji’s capital city, Suva – another contrasting destination on your trip, this time with a vibrant urban vibe. After taking your flight from Matei Airport on Taveuni to Nausori Airport outside of Suva, your easiest option is to catch a cab to one of Suva’s fabulous city hotels.

The rest of your day here will be interesting and enjoyable if you just wander around the city, checking out the local markets and crafts for sale and enjoying the restaurants. Otherwise, more experiences with the “luxury” stamp on them can be enjoyed, such as…

Luxury Experiences in Suva

  • Indulge in a heavenly spa treatment at one of Suva’s spas
  • Shop for South Pacific gifts at Jack’s of Fiji
  • Enjoy fine dining at the historic Grand Pacific Hotel
  • See the sights on a private city tour of Suva

Dining Recommendations

While fine dining can be experience at the Grand Pacific Hotel, it’s undoubtedly worth getting out into the city and discovering more flavours of Suva through its gourmet dining experiences.

Swap the street food-style curry houses for an up-market Indo-Fijian affair at Maya Dhaba.

Experience a spectacular teppanyaki show at the popular Daikoku Japanese restaurant – book early!

Or eat well at the hotel restaurants, like the Husk Restaurant at the Novotel Suva, which mixes al fresco dining with delicious Fijian and Western meals.

Dining Recommendations

While the Coral Coast is more about casual island-style dining, there are a few hidden gem-dining venues for a special occasion or simply “just because”. The Navo Specialty-Dining Restaurant of the InterContinental Resort overlooks a scenic lagoon and Navo Island and has a glass-walled kitchen to watch fine dining creations being prepared.

Alternatively, Fish Bar is the crown jewel of Fiji Marriott Resort Momi Bay‘s culinary offerings. The menu is a celebration of the ocean’s bounty, featuring an exquisite selection of fresh seafood caught from local waters.

For recommendations and their locations, see the 5 Best Fine Dining Restaurants on the Coral Coast.

Day 14 – Coral Coast to Nadi International Airport

Travel time: 1-2 hours, depending on which resort you choose to stay

Don’t let the holiday blues sink in just yet, as you have the remainder of the Coral Coast to enjoy on a scenic road trip to Nadi International Airport.

If using a private airport transfer service, as we suggest in 5 Ways to Get to the Coral Coast, most will be happy to stop at souvenir shops and markets on the way back to the airport so you can pick up some authentic souvenirs – see the 20 Best Souvenirs & Gifts from Fiji for ideas.

Then, you’ll be dropped off at Nadi International Airport and begin the check-in process for your departure flight.

Remember to arrive at Nadi Airport a couple of hours before your scheduled departure so that you have enough time to check in, go through security and browse the duty-free. For a full rundown of what to expect, take a look at Leaving Fiji: Departure Tips & Checklist.
