14-Day Luxury Itinerary for Fiji

This is it: the ultimate luxury Fiji itinerary for the couples, families or friends who want to see as much of Fiji as possible in 14 days. From Fiji’s main island, Viti Levu to the scattered Yasawa Islands to the rainforest-filled Taveuni island, this Fiji luxury itinerary: 14 days will get you experiencing a range of deluxe activities and staying in premium resorts. Fly over the islands by helicopter one day and cruise over the azure waters the next, giving you at least two days in most places to make the most of what each destination has to offer.

For a more relaxed itinerary with less travel, see How to Spend 14 Days on a Luxury Fiji Vacation TI009.

How to Get Around Fiji in 14 Days

The itinerary below involves both road and overwater travel using luxury transport methods such as private transfers, flights and cruises. Here is a quick rundown of how to get around Fiji in luxury.

Road Transport in Fiji

Three of the islands mentioned on this itinerary are well-connected with roads: Viti Levu, Vanua Levu and Taveuni. For those staying in luxury resorts, road transport can be easily organised with resort transfers. Otherwise, if you want to choose your own private transfer service, see the “Ways to Get to” articles linked below for recommendations. Taxis are also abundant on Viti Levu, Vanua Levu and from Matei Airport on Taveuni. Finally, ask your chosen resort for a private driver if you wish to go sightseeing.

Overwater Transport in Fiji

This luxury itinerary for Fiji includes fast catamaran ferries/water taxis between Viti Levu and the Mamanuca and Yasawa Islands, domestic scheduled flights between Viti Levu, Vanua Levu and Taveuni, and scenic seaplane/helicopter flights in between. More details are mentioned on each day of the itinerary where appropriate.

For alternatives and more information on getting to each destination on this itinerary, see:

The manmade island has a polished array of five-star resorts with some of the world’s biggest names in hotels: Radisson, Westin, Sheraton, Hilton and more! Needless to say, this is a fabulous place to get over the jet lag and relax before your action-packed itinerary in Fiji gets going. Make use of the day spas, explore Port Denarau town, and indulge in fine Fijian cuisine.

Day 2 – Denarau Island

Relax! This is what Fiji time is all about and the Denarau resorts can certainly provide. If you do have itchy feet though, there is a wide range of day trips you could be doing, such as visiting Navala Village – one of Fiji’s last-remaining village with traditional-style “bures”. Get inspired with our Day Trips from Denarau Island or see The Luxury Guide to Denarau Island.

Take one of the fast catamaran ferries or private water taxis to your chosen luxury island resort where guests have complimentary use of kayaks, paddleboards, snorkelling equipment, sailing boats and more to use until your heart’s content. • Discover the islands on a sunset cruise while indulging in canapes and beverages
  • Indulge in a romantic picnic on a secluded beach
  • Immerse in the Fiji culture with a village visit or a cooking class
  • Try Pacific Rim cuisine at one of the luxury restaurants
  • Travelling with kids? Treat them (and yourselves) to a day at one of the fantastic kids’ club

Day 4 – Mamanuca Islands

Chances are, you didn’t have time to do everything on your Mamanuca Islands’ bucket list so far, so now’s your chance to make up for it. Additionally, why not treat yourself to a scuba diving trip to see why they call Fiji the “Soft Coral Capital”? If you’re a keen surfer, some of the best reef breaks in Fiji are right here in the Mamanucas – see 8 Best Surf Resorts in the Mamanuca Islands for the best resorts for surfing. If you want to take it easy, why not take a boat trip to the Cloud 9 bar, a floating pizza bar over the Ro Ro Reef? Find out more about the bar on Viator and Tripadvisor.

Day 6 – Yasawa Islands

You’ll be glad to spend an extra day on these paradise islands. The Yasawa Islands are not a place you’ll want to leave too quickly when there’s sensational scuba diving to be had, private island picnics to indulge in, and the Fijian culture to immerse in. Your resort will be able to organise a kava ceremony, a welcoming ceremony where a narcotic drink called kava is shared with visitors. Especially at the Yasawa Island Resort & Spa, you’ll get the chance to try a traditional feast called a lovo.

See The Luxury Guide to the Yasawa Islands for more ideas on what to do.
